Application Process

Our Application Process has several steps.

  1. Parent visit during an Open House
  2. Submission of a completed Application File
  3. Review by Application Committee
    • The completed Application File is pre-screened by the admissions department and a school psychologist to determine how each student learns, and where he or she fits into the continuum of learning.
    • The Admissions Committee meets to discuss and address two questions in regard to each applicant:
      • Is this the kind of student who will benefit from the program that Churchill has to offer?
      • Do we have space in the appropriate class for this particular child?
  4. Parent & student visit and interview
    • If a possible match is indicated, an appointment is made for the student and parent to meet with one of the school psychologists.
    • We regret that we are not able to see every student who applies.
  5. Notification
    • The admissions staff will call parents to notify them of the Committee’s decision.
    • If the Committee does not offer a place at Churchill, committee members may suggest other possible schools.
